Re: [agile-testing] Re: What is the difference between QA and Test?

Hello,

I agree that the term of QA remains to create Dilbert.

QA – who make sure that the test group follows the process. They are also responsible for creating processes to improve the quality of test deliverable. I am not sure what else they do it because I only worked with Developer, SMEs, Testers, Project manager and Customer.

Tester – They help stakeholders to provide the quality related information. I feel Test group is the back bone of any software project.

These days Job advertisement flashes on newspaper saying that to hire QA Tester. Basically QA Tester does Software testing and also creates Test processes. I wonder how come companies cannot distinguish between these two. I think it might be the old definition of testing which used to say that testers test the product to ensures the quality of the product which leads industries to call tester's as 'QA tester'.

Is QA cost to the project? If so then as Agile says to reduce the waste in terms of cost then I feel QA should not be the part of any agile project :-)

Should be military, government, or /regulated/ (EG FDA, etc.)
