You are a seasoned professional with a minimum of 20+ years of experience, who is retired or in transition. You want to continue to work and want to do something with meaning. You may be ready for a second act for the greater good.

Encore Fellowships are structured programs that place highly-skilled, experienced professionals into social-purpose organizations, where they help nonprofits build capacity, and ultimately, have a greater impact on their communities. Fellows commit to 1,000 hours of work over 6 to 12 months. They are paid a stipend of $25,000 and are integrated into the nonprofit's leadership team.

For a city in the South Bay

Summary:
-Help improve diversity, equity and inclusion in recruiting and hiring.
-Research best DEI practices, assess current practices, pilot potential changes
-Develop and present recommendation for improvement

Desired outcomes include:
- Summary of best DEI practices in the field generally, but more specifically in California
agencies and local governments agencies in the area.

- Develop a scope of work to assess current practices in 3-5 areas and report on those results
using qualitative approaches such as focus groups and interviews and "mine" potential data from
our application system.

- Where feasible pilot small opportunities for change in practices to assess feasibility for
implementation at scale and present on results.

- Develop and present a set of recommendations to enhance DEI practices in recruiting and
hiring at the City.

Skills:
-Human Resources/ Hiring experience
-Program or project management
-Research and Evaluation

Work Environment:
-Hybrid in-office/remote.
