With a growing customer base and solid results through the past 18 months of Covid, Komprise is continuing to grow, and we are now in need of a solid Director of Engineering to join our team at our headquarters in Campbell CA.

We are looking for a passionate, intelligent software engineer excited at the prospect of working in a dynamic environment with the latest object storage, cloud, search and data analytics technologies. You'll be working with a core team developing cloud services, cloud analytics or working on the large scale search infrastructure. You'll be developing a highly-available, distributed scale-out system to search, process and manage data at massive scales across on-premises data center and cloud.

Responsibilities
-------------------
• You will design and develop features that power the Komprise data management platform to manage billions of files and petabytes of data in data centers and in the cloud
• You will define component architecture, evaluate feasibility, develop for quality and robustness and optimize for performance.
• You will be part of an agile and fast paced team with direct interaction with the customers.


Qualifications
----------------
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience.
• A solid grasp of computer science fundamentals and especially data structures, algorithms, multi-threading.
• Solid object-oriented programming background in either Java or C++.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment to meet aggressive goals and high quality standards.
• Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
• 5+ years of experience developing software components for production use.


Desired Qualifications
-------------------------
• Experience with data analytics and search software such as Elasticsearch.
• Experience developing software for cloud technologies and large scale search and data mining is a plus.
• Experience with the architecture of distributed systems and the cloud.
• Experience developing software for distributed and highly available systems and optimizing for performance.

About the Position
We are seeking a full-time UX/UI Designer to join Komprise's product team.
With record growth in 2020 and the first half of 2021, Komprise is the industry's top multi-cloud data management-as-a-service.

Komprise's impressive customer list includes the "Who's Who" of enterprises across financial services, media
and entertainment, genomics, manufacturing and public sector.

Join Komprise to work on this groundbreaking solution that is changing how businesses manage their data.
The UX designer will work closely with the product team on high-visibility projects, producing mockups that will be
implemented in our core product and used by high-profile customers. They will be contributing to interdisciplinary
design discussions and partnering with Product Managers throughout the design lifecycle.

This position is currently remote and will have the option to remain hybrid/remote when Komprise returns to the
office.

Who we're looking for:

The UX/UI Designer should be well-rounded, with the ability see a project through from the beginning research phase,
all the way to delivering pixel-perfect mockups. They should possess UX skills (user persona definition, user journey
mapping, information architecture, interaction design) as well as UI design skills (color theory, grid layout, redlining),
with attention to detail, an overall eye for design, and a passion for usability.

The ideal candidate should thrive in a highly technical environment and pick up new concepts, technologies, and
terminology quickly. Prior technical experience in the data management sector is not required, however they must be
able to pick up new technical concepts, which will inform UX decisions.

We're looking for an outgoing, creative individual with strong people skills, who is willing to learn on the fly. They must be outspoken about advocating for the user's needs and defending their design decisions.

Roles & Responsibilities
----------------------------

* Own the UX lifecycle of their projects end-to-end: From the UX research phase, to low-fidelity wireframes,
all the way to handing off pixel-perfect mockups.

* Develop strategies and goals for design projects in collaboration with UX team and Product Management,
and work cross-functionally with engineering and stakeholders

* Approach projects with a self-starter attitude, taking ownership of your work and innovating
independently

* Balance the sense of urgency in a fast-paced startup with maintaining the quality of your designs. Be
comfortable with setting and negotiating deadlines to preserve high-quality design work

* Utilize and contribute to a growing design system, prioritizing consistent design patterns and working
closely with UX Designers to sync your design processes.

* Be comfortable speaking and presenting in front of groups of stakeholders, defending design decisions, and
taking feedback on the fly

* Be a guardian of product's UX quality, defending the user's needs to multidisciplinary stakeholders.



Requirements
-----------------

* 3 to 6 years of UX experience
* Experience designing enterprise/B2B web applications is preferred
* Experience using and adhering to a pattern library/design system
* Experience using Sketch
* Strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude
* Understanding of responsive design

Education
-------------

* UX-related degree or certificate are bonus points, but not required. We understand that UX Designers
come from many paths of life and may not have UX-relevant education.
