Our client is a smaller, growing, entrepreneurial software company gaining recognition for their cutting edge cloud-centric solutions. This company offers a compelling cloud platform for global companies that is gaining attention from large enterprise customers. Based upon their expansion and growth we are now seeking a successful sales engineer professional with experience with IT infrastructure-type software solutions as it relates to the areas of cloud computing and/or migration, virtualization, data center automation/control, enterprise IT management, enterprise automation, governance, provisioning, network configuration, network change software, etc. for this exciting opportunity:
Position title: Sales Engineer/System Engineer
Location: Bay area, California
Position responsibilities:
•Work with the Account Executives technically representing the company during the sales cycle
•Design, manage, implement, and drive proof of concepts and pilots to successful completion
•Present and articulate technical concepts while mapping customer needs to current and future
product offerings
•Work with sales team to develop responses to RFIs, RFP's and prepare commercial proposals
for customers
•Work with customers and partners to support ongoing sales activities
•Provide product feedback to other departments within the company: product management,
marketing and engineering
•Work closely with sales representatives to strategize on accounts from both a business and
technical perspective
Skills required:
•5+ years pre-sales experience. Recent experience with some type of cloud-centric software
offering(s)
•3-5 years' experience with VMware and/or deploying solutions onto external cloud providers,
such as Amazon EC2
•Hands-on, technical, problem solver
•In-depth knowledge and experience with complex multi-tier topology architectures and
deployments
•In-depth understanding of Windows and UNIX environments
•Development experience working with at least one programming language (Java/.net/C++)
•Workable knowledge of Bash/Powershell scripting
•Understanding of web services and associated protocols/standards/specifications – SOAP,
WSDL, XSLT, XML
•History of success in large, complex sales situations
•Highly articulate and clear speaking and writing skills; accomplished public presentation skills
•Travel required
•Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science
