Regional Operations Manager, California

FLOWER CO. is looking for a Regional Operations Manager to work closely with the Head of Delivery Operations to lead strategic initiatives towards strengthening our efforts and ensuring long-term growth and sustainability. The Regional Operations Manager is responsible for the overview, evaluation, and execution of inventory policies and procedures within their assigned region. They lead with vision, strategy, and collaboration.

As the Regional Operations Manager, you'll lead your team in properly implementing company operational processes to ensure goals are being met and your team is successfully working together to drive results. You'll utilize your excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask as you oversee all operational task management for each distribution depot in your region, maximizing efficiency and implementing consistent standards which will allow FLOWER CO. to provide our customers with a world-class delivery experience.
The Regional Operations Manager role is 100% remote with 20% travel within California.

What you'll do
• Work closely with the Department Head in setting goals, direction, policies and procedures for the Operations organization
• Collaborate with the Department Head on the initiation and improvement of administrative, technological, and financial activities that support you region
• Collaborate with the Department Head to ensure all clinical and quality goals are being met
• Provide operational leadership in the strategic planning, development, and direction of FLOWER CO. locations
• Direct your Regional team in the implementation of strategic actions, maintaining consistent purpose and communication amongst your team in order to remove obstacles, improve responsiveness and enhance decision making
• Implement change initiatives designed to enhance individual and organizational knowledge and performance
• Provide motivational and inspirational leadership to your Regional Delivery Team, sustaining a cohesive industry-driven culture
• Ensure that effective management practices are in place at all levels
• Partner with General Manager's to ensure adequate personnel coverage
• Ensure all General Managers are aware of business priorities, focuses, and adjustments
• Promote cross-functional collaboration and partnership amongst General Managers and Depot Coordinators
• Maintain awareness of building maintenance, loss prevention, security, and safety
• Think quickly and problem solve in the moment; remain agile to support changing priorities and operational functions.


Who you are
• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Hospitality, Management or related field
• 5+ years' management experience in Distribution Centers, Restaurants, Casinos, or starting up an Operations environment
• Flexible in work hours… The Regional Operations Manager role is 100% remote with travel 20% of the time
• Ability to demonstrate leadership in project management, program development, and operations management
• Ability to provide business needs analysis and strategic planning to senior staff
• Must have experience in supervising and managing departments to meet revenue and expense budgets
• Flexibility and ability to respond quickly to shifting demands & priorities
• Highly motivated, self-directed, innovative individual with the ability to work independently and amongst teams with keen judgement, common sense and resourcefulness
• Operates with a high level of professionalism and integrity, including dealing with confidential information
• Must be results-driven, team-oriented, and dedicated to developing teams, individuals, and organizations
• Must have excellent communication, interpersonal, marketing, and public relations skills
• Proficient with MS Office and Google Suite
• Direct understanding of Cannabis laws, rules, and regulations are not a necessity as long as you have an interest and passion to further your understanding and knowledge of the industry.

Financial Controller

FLOWER CO. is adding a skilled Financial Controller who will be responsible for monitoring our company's financial health. We are a complicated company with manufacturing, e-commerce, co-packer management, forward commodity contracting, and all revenue in cash. We need someone with relevant experience. The Controller will be responsible for all aspects of financial management including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation. The Controller will also review and develop our internal control policies and procedures as well as perform financial risk management.

As the Controller, you will perform, plan, and direct the accounting operations You will report detailed information, analyze financial data in support of project cost/schedule statuses, and present findings. The ideal candidate will be highly self-motivated, detail-oriented, capable of managing their workload and prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced startup environment.

This position will be located at our Production and Distribution facility in Arcata, Humboldt County.

What you'll do
• Review and organize the entire stack of company's accounting operations: Billing, A/R, A/P, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition, GL and Counsel
• Build processes to ensure accurate accounting for a business that combines: e-commerce, manufacturing, co-packer management, commodity forward contracting with multiple wholly & partially owned subsidiaries
• This is a 100% cash business (we are banked but our customers pay us in cash), you will maintain strong cash controls
• Manage the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and prepare reports on the results
• Oversee company's month-end and year-end close processes, as well as flash reports for weekly closes on COGs / contribution margin
• Perform quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
• Maintain accurate 26-week cash flow model
• Oversee the preparation of regulatory reporting
• Create timely monthly financial statements, budgets, forecasts and present them to the executive team
• Recommend benchmarks to measure the company's ongoing performance
• Ensure compliance with state reporting requirements, applicable laws and tax filings
• Enter balance sheet CAPEX, including depreciation schedules and impairments and approve journal entries
• Develop existing team members and request additional head count when necessary


Who you are
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
• CPA and/or CMA preferred but not required
• 5+ years' experience in Accounting Leadership
• Experience with developing processes from the ground up OR significant rebuild if processes to maintain quality and speed– not just someone with experience following processes others previously set up
• Experience with accounting best practices for manufacturing, co-packers, and reselling finished goods
• Profound experience with accounting procedures and principles
• Significant experience with general ledger functions, the month-end/year end close process and financial statements management
• Excellent management and supervisory skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Ability to effectively communicate with management, peers, and staff.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports and legal documents.
• Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries from the business.
• Proficient in accounting and tax preparation software
• Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Suite
• Deep understanding of QuickBooks
• Start-up environment background is a plus
• Comfortable moving at a very fast pace – we frequently develop new lines of business and are getting increasingly vertical, its key we build a solid financial process at the same pace we launch new things – but you cannot be the choke point preventing progress
