Encore Fellowships are structured programs that place highly-skilled, experienced professionals into social-purpose organizations, where they help nonprofits build capacity, and ultimately, have a greater impact on their communities. Fellows commit to 1,000 hours of work over 6 to 12 months. They are paid a stipend of $25,000 and are integrated into the nonprofit's leadership team.

Software Designer
Summary:
Redesign back-end delivery technology for nonprofit. Design database applications and integration with existing tools. Provide design process and framework for future enhancements and designs.

Skills:

Experience designing software applications and best practices
Database and Python knowledge
Ability to work independently and teach others

Encore Fellowships provide paid, transitional engagements in non-profit organizations, for those typically 50+ and considering retirement, with 20+ years experience, who wish to move to the social impact sector for their second act. Fellowships include a $25,000 stipend for 1000 hours of work, typically part-time for a year, education on the sector, and networking with a cohort of peers.

User Guide Documentation Writer
Summary:
Create user documentation for current software tools. Create User Guides for two primary tools. Documentation is for internal users of the software. Provide process and framework for updating documentation as well as training.

Skills:
Technical end-user documentation experience (i.e System Administration and Programmer documentation)
Knowledge of technical writing
Ability to work independently

Technical Documentation Writer for JavaScript
Summary:
Create developer documentation for JavaScript web front-end for tools. Documentation includes Programmer Guide and Installation and Maintenance Guide. Documentation is for technical staff responsible for maintaining and enhancing software. Provide process and framework for updating documentation as well as training.

Skills:
JavaScript programming experience
Knowledge of technical writing
Ability to work independently

Technical Documentation Writer for Python
Summary:
Create developer documentation for current Python-based tools. Documentation includes Programmer Guides for two tools. Documentation is for technical staff responsible for maintaining and enhancing software. Provide process and framework for updating documentation as well as training.

Skills:
Python programming and project documentation experience
Knowledge of technical writing
Ability to work independently
