Position Title: R & D Engineer, Software - Advanced
Location: Santa Clara, CA
Duration: 10 – 12 Months

The bioinformatics team in Genomics business unit enable the development of industry leading consumables, instruments, and analysis software for next generation sequencing and microarrays.
We work in a cross-disciplinary group with life scientists and engineers in R&D, marketing, manufacturing and quality assurance.
Your responsibility in this position will be to enhance our computational capabilities by improving infrastructure, integrating new tools, providing education, and, when needed, just getting the computations done.
Job Qualifications:
* Linux administration (RHEL).
* SGE/Torque administration and configuration.
* Scripting in Python, bash, and perl.
* Familiarity with apache.
* Familiarity with bioinformatics tools, particularly those for next generation sequencing.
* Familiarity with bioinformatics data repositories such as UCSC and Ensemble.
Wants:
Java, Oracle, MySQL.
Strong Python skills are required.
