We are looking for an experienced Technical Writer for the services team of a global high technology company. The Services Technical Writers work with global resource teams to develop user manuals and documentation for internal teams and customers world-wide. An ideal candidate is someone who enjoys taking engineering information and producing easy-to-follow quality user documentation and sales-related materials.
This is a 2 month, 40 hours per week role onsite at the client's offices in Dallas, TX. This is a w-2 role as a Stage 4 Solutions' employee.
Responsibilities:
•Creates, develops, plans, writes and edits services-related content
•Conducts interviews with various users and technical staff as required to gather data for documentation. Works with Business Interlock lead, Product Architect and Sr. Technical Writer to clarify business requirements and documentation assignments.
•Researches and translates technical information into manuals and/or web-based documents for non-technical and technical users.
•Recommends formats responsive to technical and customer requirements.
•Produces materials that conform to the company documentation and quality assurance standards.
•Analyzes and prioritizes technical feedback from various audiences and drives necessary changes into documentation or products
•Work with lead writers and project managers to scope deliverables and schedules for project milestones
Requirements:
•Minimum 10 years Technical Writing experience, with 5 years in large storage or software company
•Experience with development of user manuals and online help in agile development framework
•Expert knowledge and skills in writing and creating technical materials
•Ability to work and communicate effectively and cohesively with colleagues under tight deadlines.
•Minimum Bachelors degree in Computer Science, English or Linguistics or other related fields.
•Required Proficiency in word processing, image editing, online documentation authoring tools: XMetaL, Adobe FrameMaker (both structured and unstructured), Adobe RoboHelp, Adobe Technical Communication Suite, Adobe Acrobat Professional, Corel Paintshop Pro, Adobe Illustrator
