Our client, a growing medical device company in South San Francisco is hiring for a Senior Accountant position. This is a temp to hire, on-site role. *The client needs a candidate with advanced skills in NetSuite*
While reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Senior Accountant will track and evaluate day-to-day activities including establishing financial status by developing and implementing systems. These systems will collect, analyze, verify, and report information. This is an individual contributor role, and it requires a person who is hands-on, detail-minded and has a detail-minded and critical thinking approach to the financial operations of the company.
Compensation range: $110-$120k.
Essential Functions:
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting function including:
- timely month and end-year processes
- accounts payable including the weekly payment process
- employee expense reporting process
- purchase order tracking
- payroll and time-tracking
- Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements as requested
- Ensure compliance with the company's SOX control program
- Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles
- Prepare audit and review schedules and compile any requested audit data necessary
- Improve and implement financial systems and procedures that support the company's objectives
- Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3-5 years of prior experience as an Accountant with progressively increased responsibilities
- Advanced computer skills in Microsoft office, NetSuite, QuickBooks, payroll software (ADP or Paychex) and expense management systems such as Expensify or Concur
- Advanced skills in NetSuite-Required
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment managing multiple tasks
- Prior experience in the life science industry is preferred
- Prior experience working in a publicly traded company is preferred
