Senior Linux Engineer
As a senior linux engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and supporting server infrastructure for mobile and web-based, consumer facing applications with 99.99% uptime requirements. You will work closely with network and release engineer peers to build a scalable hardened infrastructure to support growth in our business.
You should be comfortable with multi-tasking, handling interrupts, and interacting with a distributed team. You must enjoy a challenge and love working with a high quality team of people as smart as you. This position provides an excellent opportunity to help drive the most useful applications into the hands of millions of users.
Responsibilities:
• Architect, design, develop, document and deliver server infrastructure for Asurion Mobile operator-deployed products.
• Lead, drive technical requirements and work with other teams where components and resources overlap for server build outs.
• Communicate with other team members to build an active/active Internet facing infrastructure.
Requirements:
• BS or MS in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• 4 + years experience as a Linux Engineer
• Strong Perl and or shell scripting skills
• Design, implementation and proven track record in deploying large scale, high-availability systems
• CentOS, Kickstart, Cfengine, SNMP, SMTP, DNS, Syslog-ng, SAMBA
• open source mindset
• Experience with Networking concepts and network layers a plus
• JBoss, Postgres, Nagios, Cacti, Xen experience a plus
• Ability to analyze technical requirements and develop well-structured architectures
• Proven ability to communicate, execute with many different functions, engineering, marketing and executive management.
• A self-starter with a strong desire to learn new concepts
• You thrive in a small-team environment
