Our client, a publicly traded, manufacturing, small to mid-size company is seeking a Senior Controller. Reporting to the company's CEO, you will lead the accounting and finance department in helping to bring their patented technology to established and new markets. This position will play a key leadership role in the management team. This role is in San Jose, CA, with a hybrid schedule and the preference is to be onsite a few days a week. If you are not able to commit to a hyrid schedule with a few days a week onsite please do not apply.
Responsibilities Include:
• Guide all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
• Work closely with executive team and partners to facilitate efficient and effective company-wide operation
• Manage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and G/L analysis
• Present monthly financial reports to the CEO and Board of Directors
• Responsible for external reporting requirements of the Oslo Bors Stock Exchange in accordance with IFRS
• Support Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or company-wide improvements, with research, planning, and implementation, as required
• Administer equity related programs
• Manage the production of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts
• Produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and manage daily cash
• Assess, execute, and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Requirements/Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field. MBA or CPA preferred
• Public accounting audit training and experience
• Accounting Control experience
• Solid understanding of general ledger
• SEC reporting required
• Outstanding technology, analytics and management experience required
• Excellent knowledge of US GAAP and accepted accounting standards and local reporting requirements in various countries. Knowledge of I.F.R.S a plus
• Experience working with foreign offices or subsidiaries a plus
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills
• Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
• Excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written
• Ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
• Great attention to detail
• Strong desire and ability to produce results without direct supervision
• Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
• Team-first mentality
• Operate with high ethics and integrity and is non-political
• Ability to work with diverse personalities, build effective relationships and interact appropriately and effectively at all levels of the organization
• Experience in a start-up environment is a plus

Our client, a boutique private firm that offers professional valuation opinions for tax reporting, financial reporting, litigation, and transactional purposes, is seeking a Senior Associate. This is a full-time position for permanent employment. Remote work options are possible, yet the expectation is that you are available during Pacific Standard Time.
You will assist in the preparation of valuation reports, fairness opinions and more. Responsibilities include 409A valuations, working with CEOs and CFOs on tax and financial reporting exercises, fairness opinions, litigation support, and other areas including divorce, estate planning, and mergers and acquisitions. You will also keep up to date on valuation industry changes and learn from other Appraisers and Principals who are established in the field. Clients include venture-backed start-ups with complex capital structures, leading international technology unicorns, wealthy individuals, and "main street" businesses. You will be able to develop your management skills. You will also be given as much responsibility as you have proven you can handle and will be compensated accordingly. Typical work weeks are 45 hours and there is a mandatory PTO policy.
Requirements:
● Two to three years of valuation experience
● Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business-related field
● Public accounting experience, ideally Big 4 preferred
● Fluent English speaking and writing abilities
● Excellent report writing and financial modeling skills
● Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
● Advanced Excel skills
● Knowledge and experience with Standard & Poor's preferred
● Excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written
● Meticulous attention to detail
● Strong analytical skills
