Job Description
Our client is one of the foremost Gaming Headphone creators in the USA. Due to recent growth, they are seeking to hire another creative Firmware Engineer to add to their team. The Firmware Engineer will become an integral part of the audio headset engineering team. The selected candidate will work with our experienced engineering staff in the development of Company's gaming headsets. Work will include analysis, design, development, integration and testing of firmware for our products. The work will be highly collaborative with firmware engineers, hardware engineers, and test engineers. This opportunity represents a unique opportunity for candidates interested in working in a fast paced, team environment, creating cool gaming headsets.
Specific Duties Include
Develop embedded software for high-volume consumer audio products.
Collaborate with firmware, software, hardware, and test engineers to deliver products.
Work with product managers and third-party vendors gathering requirements.
Develop software in Embedded C and assembly for headsets or related products.
Create software architectures.
Participate in peer reviews.
Debug and fix software defects.
Unit test firmware.
Required Skills
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
3-5 years of relevant engineering experience preferred
Solid fundamentals in object-oriented programming and data structures
Worked with embedded CPUs, 8051, ARM, Microchip, NXP, Freescale, CSR
Data Communication over USB, UART, I2C, SPI, I2S, Bluetooth, BLE, WiFi
Real-time, multi-threading experience, interrupts, RTOS, and bare metal systems
Experience with Bootloaders, FLASH, EEPROM, timers, DMAs, peripheral drivers
Familiarity with digital audio processing, A/D and D/A audio converters
Digital electronics, schematics, and, board bring up
Debugging with emulators, debuggers, JTAG, IDEs, and unit tests
Experience with Consumer Electronics, Audio, or Gaming a plus
Programming experience in embedded C, C++, C#, Python. shell scripting a plus

Job Description:
Our client is an industry leader in wireless charging and wireless power. Due to recent growth, they are seeking to add a Senior Application Engineer to their team in San Jose, CA. (Sorry, no remote candidates for this role please.)
Specific Duties Include
- Engage closely with sales, engineering, and customer personnel to bring up new Tx and Rx reference modules at customer sites, troubleshoot customer prototypes, and develop solutions that support end-user applications.
- Support of architecture and low-level hardware questions and issues.
- Analysis of customer architecture and requirements.
- Integrate, test, and debug customer modules, systems and evaluation platforms based on Company Tx & Rx products, using bench top setups and state of the art electrical test equipment. This work will be performed at Company facility and at global customer sites.
- Coordinate with operations engineering & regulatory to ensure end-to-end system readiness
- Modify existing reference designs for customers based on their ID/ME and PRD requirements, i.e., requires knowledge on doing detailed Electrical and RF design and layouts.
- Perform customer's schematic and layout design reviews to achieve optimal performance.
- Professionally manage relationships with key customers.
- Drive high customer satisfaction through excellent customer service, problem solving, and responsiveness.
- Train Field Applications Engineers.
- Train customers on the use of Company technologies directly and via web conferences.
- Document and advocate improvements for Company products to our QA, Development, and
- Product Management team(s).
- Develop customer documents such as data sheets, design guidelines, and application notes.
- Play a critical role in developing and fostering enduring customer relationships that grow Company business
Required Skills
- 7-10 years plus BS/CE/EE/CS, in relevant fields with a strong track record of success, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to work with a variety of internal employees in Hardware and Software Engineering, Architecture, Field Applications Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Regulatory and senior management.
- Knowledge in most, if not all of the following areas:
- Applications Engineering
- Direct customer interaction and involvement
- Project or time management skills
- Ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently
- Ability to explain and train others on complex technology
- Debugging of complicated problems or bugs
- Hardware/software/firmware bring-up
- Training of customers and/or FAEs Architecture and Low Level Hardware/Software
- Experience with working with ODMs and CMs to quickly transition from NPI to production ramp up.
- Experience in DFM and DFT and optimizing manufacturing process for maximum yield.
- Solid understanding of RF testing with an emphasis on WLAN, WWAN, NFC and Bluetooth.
- Experience with bench level testing using equipment such as digital oscilloscopes, digital communications analyzers, signal generators, RF spectrum analyzers, VNA, and custom test/evaluation boards.
- Experience in hardware/firmware bring up, including the use of GUIs and scripts for hardware control and automation
- Experience in documenting product requirements extracted from industry safety and standards.
- Experience interacting with customers, regulatory agencies, test labs, etc.
- Ability to multitask in a high energy environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills and enthusiasm for solving customer problems in a collaborative manner.
- Some travel to customer sites is required.

Specific Duties Include
Owner of hardware requirements, architecture, and board designs for wireless power reference systems.
System/Chip bringup & DVT leader, including test definition and analysis.
New device support including pre-tapeout
Tier-1 customer support
NPI support including manufacturing test development & regulatory certification.
Help manage small team.
Required Skills
MSEE with min 8 yrs experience.
Board-Level Hardware Design.
Architecture and schematics, component selection, DFx for high volume mass production.
PCB layout including best practices for RF, high-speed digital, and power systems.
Expert in PCB design tools and processes.
Excellent lab/debugging practices across multiple domains.
Analog, digital, RF simulation including power & link budgets, analysis with Matlab, Excel, Python.
Prior experience managing a small team, either as a Manager or as a Team lead.
