Communications Manager 
This role has been designated as 'Edge', which means you will primarily work outside of an HPE office.

   

Description

Develop and align communications strategies to drive employee engagement and advance the company's edge-to-cloud transformation narrative.  Oversee key OLAA communications activities that include quarterly All Team Member meetings, organization and executive-level announcements, project management of events, creative videos, and ensuring team members have access to HPE's current business communications and content.

Responsibilities

Develop, drive, and execute communications strategies & roadmaps, messaging frameworks, and timelines spanning multiple quarters.

Be recognized as a trusted consultant for team member, organization, and executive communications.

Contribute to the development and adoption of innovative principles and ideas across the company.

Maintain communications editorial planning and calendar

-
May be assigned specific work and deliverables coming from the Transformation Office that accelerates the company's edge-to-cloud operating model.


Education and Experience

-
BA or BS in Communications desired

-
8-10+ years of experience in employee or organization communication or journalism


Professional Knowledge and Skills

-
Ability to link communications strategies and activities to business results.

Superior skills with:

-
Writing and editing - recognized for "near perfection" and often asked to edit the work of others

-
MS Office and other communication/collaboration platforms, including MS PowerPoint, MS SharePoint, MS Teams, Slack, Zoom, etc.

Program and project management (experience with Midaxo preferred)

Virtual and in-person end-to-end event planning – creates agendas, develops and manages content, event show flow logistics, metrics summary reports, etc.

Experience creating videos, including drafting scripts and talking points

Proven experience leading and measuring virtual programs to achieve a common goal

Solid knowledge and understanding of employee communications methodologies, tools, and vehicles.

Advance our transformation by advising on change initiatives and gaining buy-in for our strategy

HPE is excited to add an experienced Executive and Employee Communications Manager to our Corporate Communications team to support business group communications. Communication plays a key role in enabling HPE's success and our transformation to an aaS company.

How You'll Make Your Mark:

This role will support a global business group's executive and employee communications, responsible for ensuring we are tightly aligned to the organization and company transformation narratives. Responsibilities include developing, implementing, and reporting sustained employee and external communications plans to advance the company's brand, and drive employee alignment and engagement.


Responsibilities

- Understand the communications needs of various internal audiences; develop, execute, and evaluate key employee communications strategies, programs, messaging frameworks, that are impactful and lead to desired outcomes.
- Support key internal events.
- Develop executive and customer presentations.
- Write and edit email, web content, blog posts, etc.
- Support executive social media efforts.
- Serve as a communications consultant and strategist for assigned business.
- Work cross-functionally across teams, businesses, and functions to ensure alignment.

About You:

- BA or BS in Communications, Marketing, or Business Administration.
- Solid background in internal or external communications, social media, or marketing.

Knowledge and Skills

- Superior writing and editing skills - recognized for "near perfection" writing and editing skills and often asked to edit the work of others.
- Strong listening and interpersonal skills.
- Strong visual and storytelling skills.
- Superior organization and program management skills.

Project Manager, XPRIZE Feed the Next Billion

XPRIZE Feed the Next Billion is a $15M competition that will incentivize teams to produce chicken breast or fish fillet alternatives that replicate or outperform conventional chicken and fish in: access, environmental sustainability, animal welfare, nutrition and health, as well as taste and texture.


The winning team will develop multiple consistent cuts of chicken breast or fish fillet alternatives (85-115 grams / 3-4 ounces) that replicate the sensory properties, structure, versatility, and nutritional profile of conventional chicken or fish, while having a minimal environmental footprint. A bonus prize will be awarded to the team that develops a scalable whole-animal-origin-free growth media at the lowest production cost and that uses this media to produce their final product.


Position Description

XPRIZE is seeking an experienced Project Manager who brings extensive professional experience driving large, complex projects across an ecosystem of diverse entities, as part of coordinating the activities (day to day operations and milestone events) associated with XPRIZE Feed the Next Billion.

The Project Manager will create project plans and coordinate partners to execute the day-to-day activities associated with Prize events, projects, and communications in accordance with project budget and timeline. To achieve this, the Project Manager is expected to work and plan across different XPRIZE departments such as marketing, IT, and partnership as well as external partners and vendors who contribute to Prize deliverables.


*** This is a hybrid remote role with 40 % domestic and international travel ***


Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Prize Lead, provides overall project management support for the prize.
Creates the prize project plan to ensure all parties are tracking towards deadlines successfully.
Develops and manages internal knowledge base of the prize through various project management tools like Google Drive, Smartsheets, etc.
Administers official paperwork like contact distribution lists, contracts, certificates, licenses, permits, expense reporting, etc.
Under guidance of the Prize Lead, is responsible for generating internal and external prize updates.
Responsible for tracking the project plan, scope of work with vendors/consultants, and works with the Prize Lead to ensure the competition is running efficiently and effectively.
Accountable for all staff travel to events and conferences related to the prize.
Accountable for all travel requirements of teams, judges and staff.
Tracks budget and expenditures and updates the prize budget accordingly to match the Foundation's reforecasting yearly budget cycle.
Responsible for event planning including workshops, team summits, and judging summits.
Represents the prize at internal and external meetings, including giving presentations about the prize when needed.
Responsible for risk identification and developing mitigation strategies in collaboration with the Prize Lead.
Work with marketing specialists to ensure that Prize communications are delivered as expected and with quality


Travel

Domestic and International travel for this role may vary over the course of the prize but is expected to be 40% on average. Candidates must have a current passport and must be willing to comply with international travel rules associated with COVID-19.


Qualifications

Bachelor's of Science
4 years of work experience in project management within a similar industry
Ability to lead meetings, webinars, workshops, etc.
Experience building and working with Ecosystems and partner organizations
Demonstrated budget management experience
Project management and leadership experience
Skilled in interacting with professionals at all levels of authority within major corporations, government agencies, and research institutions
Strong business writing and professional verbal communication skills
Ability to thrive and think creatively and calmly in highly fluid situations and under intense schedules and deadlines
Highly diplomatic, with proven crisis management experience
