Senior Accountant Overview:
OWNZONES Entertainment Technologies (OET) is looking for a talented Senior Accountant to join the growing team remote during COVID and then in our Beverly Hills office. This is an exciting role for those who are interested in the future of media and entertainment. Working at OET means having the opportunity to impact key strategic areas and get involved at the ground level with a fast-paced startup in the consumer and enterprise digital media space. This position is remote but upon returning to offices it may be based in Los Angeles in our Beverly Hills office.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Own and manage day-to-day accounting operations including cash management, the posting and maintenance of general ledger accounts, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll transactions, bank and credit card reconciliations and journal entries.
- Ensure daily and monthly processes and reconciliations are completed and lead to timely and accurate month-end closes.
- Manage month-end closing activities and consolidation for two European subsidiaries.
- Prepare financial reports and statements.
- Review, document and implement financial terms of contractual agreements with vendors and customers
- Assist with the development, documentation and enforcement of internal controls, policies and procedures.
- Work with 3rd party tax accountant to assure timely filing of tax returns
- Support payroll, HR, M&A, budgeting and financial planning activities.
- Partner with business owners, customers and vendors.
- Ad hoc projects as needed.
Mandatory Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience
- BS/BA degree, accounting preferred
- CPA is a plus
- Extensive knowledge and experience with GAAP, international accounting standards and practices, Quickbooks, Netsuite, bill.com, payroll software
- Strong quantitative analysis and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated, organized, detailed-oriented with excellent communication skills
- Experience in media and technology services a plus
Preferred Qualifications:
- Interest in digital media
- Self-starter, with the ability to work independently or with a team
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
- Flexibility with working hours as needed to support business needs
